Storms of Serenity
"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end.
The sled and traveller stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm."

“There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter”
Shadows dance upon the icy floor,
Their steps in haste, as lights illuminate more.
In urban life's frenzied, pulsing beat,
They seek refuge from the storm's wild repeat.
The shadows fleeting, ephemeral as can be,
Symbolize life's transient nature, wild and free.
Amidst nature's enduring, steadfast might,
Human activity flickers, a brief, shining light.
The storm outside, a metaphor so grand,
Represents life's challenges, at nature's command.
The city's lights, a warmth that never fades,
Offer safety in human connection's gentle shades.
In life's tempests, we must find our way,
Whether in urban bustle or nature's quiet day.
Do we seek solace in the city's vibrant throng,
Or find peace in nature's stillness, where love and calm belong?
Peace.
Snow blankets the remnants of motion—chairs stacked neatly, a coffee cup perched with quiet precision, and railings adorned with symmetrical ridges of frost. The scene transforms chaos into calm, where stillness breathes life into forgotten objects. Each element, softened by winter’s touch, becomes part of a harmonious composition, a delicate balance between order and nature’s spontaneity.
In life, storms may disrupt our rhythm, scattering the pieces of our existence. Yet, as the snow settles, clarity emerges in the stillness. Symmetry reminds us of the beauty in alignment—the way moments of pause can restore balance and reveal meaning in simplicity. Just as snow smooths the sharp edges of the everyday, stillness allows us to reflect, recalibrate, and find peace amidst life’s relentless motion.
